A 23-year-old man was arrested on Sunday (7) for breaking into a jewelry store in a shopping mall in Salvador.
According to the Bahia Civil Police, the criminal spent the night hiding in the ceiling of the commercial establishment and, in the morning, broke through the plaster to rob the store.

The Military Police also confirmed the incident and said in a statement that they were called to verify the report of theft inside a commercial establishment located on Avenida Luís Viana Filho, Paralela. At the location, the police found the criminal already detained by the shopping center’s security guards.
With the suspect, R$1,100, three pairs of earrings and a wedding ring were found.
All seized material was sent to the Central Police Station for the adoption of appropriate measures.
According to shopkeepers, this is not the first time that a jewelry store has been robbed inside this shopping mall and they complain about insecurity in the place.
However, in a statement, the company stated that it maintains a “strong security policy with trained teams, monitoring and advanced technologies in preventing and combating violence to guarantee the well-being of store owners, employees and customers”.
The statement also says that the case does not reflect the shopping mall’s day-to-day operations.
