O Focus Bulletin released this Monday (15) brings a new review of financial market institutions for Brazil’s economic growth in 2022.
With an upward revision for the seventh consecutive week, the market expects Brazil’s GDP to increase by 2% in 2022.
The expectation converges with that expected by the economic team of the federal government, which last month raised the GDP forecast to 2% this year.
The Bulletin also brings the seventh consecutive drop in the inflation forecast, which fell from 7.11% to 7.02% this week. As for the basic interest rate, the market has not yet
expects a new adjustment, and maintained the expectation that a Selic rate of 13.75% this year.
Next year
The scenario for 2023, according to the document, is the opposite of this year. For the 19th week in a row, Focus forecasts a rise in inflation next year, now reaching 5.38%. In addition
of a timid GDP growth of 0.41%. Regarding the Selic, the expectation remains the 11% of the basic interest rate for the next year.
