Marriage at first sight 9: Carolina and Lucas about to explode

The moment when couples of Marriage at first sight return to normal life after spending the honeymoon together is the real test to see if the alchemy of the early days is strong enough to survive later. A moment that Carolina Manfrin and Lucas Vianini didn’t even notice, given that for them the experience within the program was born and evolved under the darkest star there could be. Despite the timid attempts of Lucas, who at times seemed to push his hand too much to be likeable and affable at all costs – let’s think of the constant jokes uttered during the wedding to fill the (sacrosanct) silences between them – Carolina remained in the position of she: Lucas is not the right man for her, although it certainly can’t be said that he hasn’t tried to make a connection.

When, however, during the honeymoon of Marriage at first sightLucas addressed with her a discourse related to control – or rather that, sometimes, he happens to lose his temper with anyone who comes under fire, recalling the time she threw an umbrella stand at the owner of a restaurant with whom she had a fight – it was clear to everyone that Carolina would soon throw in the towel. «We can’t say we didn’t try.” the girl said to her husband on the last day of their honeymoon. “If we don’t transmit anything, if there’s no emotion, we can’t define ourselves as a couple”. «I try to censor certain aspects of my personality to protect this newborn relationship”was Lucas’ piqued reply to which Carolina retorted that this is not the right spirit with which to face the experience offered by the Real Time programme.

The key of Marriage at first sighton the other hand, has always been about being yourself: only this is the way to understand who is in front of you. “I’m afraid of my anger,” Lucas reiterated, giving the shivers not only to his bride, but also to the viewer. “She could be the perfect person to hurt my nervous system,” the boy commented coldly in the confessional, preparing the ground for what we will see during the next episode. «I’m not used to being grossed out. As I am, therefore, the story would be over”, Lucas explained, demonstrating rare pride and bluster, given that a moment later he asked Carolina how it is possible that she is not attracted to him since everyone, according to him, wants him. «You want a lady in waiting», was the reply of the girl, perhaps the real victim of this part of the experiment which will inexorably culminate with an option that Marriage at first sight hadn’t considered mine before.
