The German actor Damian Hardung 26, revealed that the second season of “Maxton Hall: The World Between Us” is “very dark” and spoke about the experience of recording traumatic scenes for his character, James Baufort.
“The second season is very dark and [há] a lot of pain and trauma in my character ”, he revealed in an interview with the Short Take podcast.
“I had a really hard time filming this, it really got me to a point where I was like, ‘I don’t know if this is healthy anymore.’ . So, I am really looking forward to seeing how it would play out on screen,” he added.
Hardung stars in the series alongside Harriet Herbig-Matten, The first season of “Maxton Hall” premiered in May 2024 and became the platform’s most successful original international Prime Video title.
The production tells the story of two young students from different worlds, James Beaufort and Ruby Bell, who study at the same elite school in Europe. In the first season, the young people get closer after Ruby discovers a super secret from the Beaufort heiress, and her brother James tries to silence her. From the contact between the two, an almost forbidden romance is born, based on the social differences that separate them.
In the second season, a coup by the Beaufort family should disrupt the romance between Ruby and James, said a note from the streaming service. Recordings were completed in September 2024. The premiere date has not yet been announced .
The series is based on the bestseller “Save Me”, by Mona Kasten. The book is part of a trilogy: “Save Me”, “Save You” and “Save Us”, therefore, the events of the season have a sequence already written and there is more story to tell. The first volume is available in Brazil.
