McDonald’s launches Happy Meal for adults in the US — with a different twist

McDonald’s is bringing back its family of recognizable figurines in a new adult Happy Meal, which, yes, includes the toys.

From October 3rd, customers can order a Cactus Plant Flea MarketBox – a 10-piece Big Mac or Chicken McNuggets, with fries and a drink.

The meal is a collaboration between the streetwear brand and the fast food chain as it delves into nostalgia.

The food will be served in a specially designed box that should spark happy McLanche memories from the old days.

Toys include redesigned versions of famous McDonald’s mascots including Grimace, Hamburglar and Birdie, plus a new one called Cactus Buddy.

“We’re taking one of McDonald’s most nostalgic experiences and literally reframing it in a new way that is hyper-relevant to our adult fans,” said Tariq Hassan, director of marketing and customer experience for McDonald’s USA in a statement.

Cactus Plant Flea Market is a streetwear brand that has been popularized by Kanye West and Pharrell in recent years.

Complex described its aesthetic as a “fluid and eccentric combination” mixed with “fun graphic imagery”.

And its elusive origins are a huge appeal to fans of the brand.

The brand’s hoodies can sell for up to $1,000 on the StockX online marketplace.

McDonald’s has found success with its celebrity collaborations, often crediting them with driving sales.

Past partnerships include BTS, J Balvin and Travis Scott, the last one being so popular it ran out of meals.
