MediaTek has announced new SoCs Helio G88 and Helio G96, which do not support fifth generation networks and are designed for mid-range smartphones.
In place of the Helio G90 and G95 comes the new SoC Helio G96, which offers support for 120Hz displays as well as 108MP cameras and dual 4G SIM cards. MediaTek Helio G88 comes to replace SoC Helio G80 and G85. This platform supports 90-Hz screens and 64-megapixel cameras.
The MediaTek Helio G96 offers excellent performance for the mid-range, the SoC has a Cat-13 4G LTE WorldMode to boost 4G speeds. In addition, its 4G modem has VoLTE and ViLTE support. The platform also received MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite technology to accelerate games
MediaTek Helio G96 supports UFS 2.2 and Bluetooth 5.2. The platform is equipped with two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.05 GHz and six energy efficient Cortex-A55 cores. The GPU is the Mali-G57 MC2.
Helio G88 is equipped with two ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz and six energy efficient Cortex-A55 cores. The SoC supports electronic image stabilization and MediaTek HyperEngine 20 Lite technology to enhance your gaming experience.
The first smartphones on these platforms will appear this year.
