Meet the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo: the off-road version of the Tesla Model S rival

One in three Porsche cars sold in 2020 was fully electric or hybrid. By 2025, the German automaker expects the share of electric vehicles to reach 50%. And one of the brand’s flagship electric vehicles called the Taycan, which has just got an off-road version, will help Porsche with this.

According to TopGear, Porsche has announced the Taycan Cross Turismo. The new model is an off-road version of the Porsche Taycan electric sedan, which is often called one of the main rivals of the Tesla Model S. The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo turned out to be slightly taller and much more spacious than the original model – in the basic configuration, the height increased by 20 mm, and when choosing an off-road package this the indicator will increase to 30 mm. In the rear of the cabin, according to the manufacturer, there is 47 mm of additional space above the heads of passengers, as well as more legroom in the front seats for the driver and his fellow traveler. The maximum volume of the trunk has also increased, moreover, as much as three times. With the rear seats folded down, the boot capacity now exceeds 1,200 liters.

The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is available in four different powertrain configurations. The Taycan 4 version with 375 horsepower, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.1 seconds and a 455 km power reserve costs £ 79,340 (about 8.183 million rubles). The £ 87,820 Taycan 4S has a 483 horsepower engine, accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds and can travel 453 kilometers on a single charge. Turbo versions of the electric car turned out to be more powerful, but also more expensive. So, the off-road Taycan Turbo with a power plant with a capacity of 616 horsepower, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.3 seconds and a power reserve of 452 kilometers costs from 116,950 pounds. The top configuration with the Turbo prefix in the name is estimated by the manufacturer at 139,910 pounds. For this money, 750 horses will be hidden under the hood of the car, which will allow it to accelerate to a hundred in just 2.9 seconds and drive 418 kilometers on a single charge.
