Meeting of N. Dendia with the President of Rwanda P. Kagame

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, met today with the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, in the capital Kigali. The contribution of Greece in the fight against the pandemic, the deepening of the ties and the cooperation between Greece and Rwanda, the EU-Rwanda relations and the developments in the wider region were discussed, as Nikos Dendias announced in a post on Twitter.

Earlier, the Foreign Minister met with his Rwandan counterpart, and also visited and laid a wreath at the Kigali Genocide memorial.

Vaccine donation

Following the donation of 200,000 coronavirus vaccines to Rwanda in September, Greece today donated an additional 330,000 to this African country. The donation took place during the Foreign Minister’s visit to Rwanda.

“A practical proof of our solidarity with the people of Rwanda, following the donation of 200,000 vaccines in September,” Nikos Dendias wrote on Twitter after the handover ceremony.

At the vaccination ceremony in Kigali, the Foreign Minister was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, Marios Themistokleous.
