Megan Fox revealed that she had an ectopic pregnancy when she was younger, an experience that left her deeply affected.
The 37-year-old “Transformers” star, who recently reported having suffered a miscarriage, a pregnancy resulting from her relationship with her current fiancé, Machine Gun Kelly, spoke about another complication she faced long before being with the musician.
An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that occurs outside the uterus and, if not diagnosed early, can be risky for the pregnant woman.
“I really reflected, ‘Why did this happen? Why was this so difficult for me?’. Because when I was younger, I had an ectopic pregnancy. There were other things that I preferred not to reveal, because the world would be in an uproar,” said Megan.
“I’ve had other similar problems, but not with someone I was so in love with,” said the artist, alluding to Machine Gun Kelly.
The actress, currently mother to Noah, 10, Bodhi, 9, and Journey, 7, from her previous marriage to Brian Austin Green, highlighted the impact the recent loss has had on her current relationship, sharing how they both they used their creative outlets to channel the pain.
“That element of love really made this miscarriage truly tragic for me and left me with immense pain and suffering. So I wrote a lot. He [MGK] he also wrote about it on his albums, he wrote some songs about abortion. So it felt like something that I could address publicly because it was addressed in a way through him, so I have a space to express it as well,” she explained.
Megan’s recent publication, a book of poetry, titled “Pretty Boys Are Poisonous” details a little more about her personal life. The actress shared that writing played a crucial role in her journey after years of silence.
“These poems were written in an attempt to root out the disease that took root in me because of my silence. I spent my entire life keeping men’s secrets, my body hurts from carrying the weight of their sins”, said the note about the work.
“My freedom lives in these pages and I hope my words can inspire others to reclaim their happiness and identity, using their voice to shine a light on what has been buried, but not forgotten, in the darkness,” he added.
