The billionaire has joined the ranks of wealthy supporters of the first cryptocurrency, including the head of MicroStrategy Michael Saylor and the head of SkyBridge Capital Anthony Scaramucci.
In January, Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk posted a hashtag of Bitcoin on Twitter, after which the asset grew to $ 38,000.
Earlier in a comment to Cointelegraph, Pliego revealed that he first bought digital gold in 2013. He sold the asset at $ 17,000 during a bull rally in 2017 and called Bitcoin “the best investment of all time.”
According to Forbes, Pliego is ranked second in the ranking of Mexico’s billionaires and 106th in the world. The publication estimated his fortune at $ 11.7 billion.

In November 2020, Pliego invested 10% of his portfolio in bitcoin.
