Michael Angelos: It is believed that his fingerprint was found on a 500-year-old statue

Scientists and art historians at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London believe that we will soon learn more about Michael Angelo, as they are convinced they have spotted it fingerprint of renaissance artist on a wax statue. The dark figurine was a rough model for a larger unfinished marble sculpture. The 500-year-old statuette, which was named “Slave” and depicts a young naked figure, leaning on her face with her hand, was part of Michael Angelos’ preparations for his ornate tomb Pope July II in Rome.

According to the museum, Michael Angelos started working in one larger marble version of the statue, named “New Slave” along with 40 other human-sized statues to decorate the Pope’s tomb, but the work was never completed. “Is exciting the possibility “a surviving footprint of Michael Angelos on a statue has survived,” he told CNN one of the heads of the museum.
