Despite suspicions of deliberation and intrusiveness, according to the developers, this is just a software error, such alerts should not appear again on devices running Windows 10. A Microsoft Edge community manager explained on Reddit that the team is already investigating the issue and needs more information from user side.
So far, the easiest way to deal with the intrusive alert is to simply close it and save the current settings. Microsoft is likely to release a fix in the coming days, but while the investigation continues, the developers have not named a specific release date.
