Microsoft recently released a report for the quarter ended September 30, 2021. For Microsoft, this was the first quarter of fiscal 2022. Revenue for the reporting period was $ 45.3 billion, up 22% from the same period in the previous fiscal year.
Operating profit in annual terms increased by 27% and reached $ 20.2 billion. Finally, net income rose 48% year-on-year to $ 20.5 billion. The report also includes non-GAAP net income. It is equal to 17.2 billion dollars and is 24% more than a year ago.
The authors of the press release on the quarter’s results note that revenue in the Productivity and Business Processes segment was $ 15.0 billion, an increase of 22% over the year. Intelligent Cloud revenue grew 31% year-on-year to $ 17.0 billion, while More Personal Computing revenue grew 12% year-over-year to $ 13.3 billion.
