Midjourney came out AI-model for video generation

Midjourney, known for its generative AI models to create images, announced the launch of a product called V1. The new tool converts the image into a set of four five -second videos.

Like other Midjourney solutions, V1 only works through Discord and is available exclusively in web versions. The user can upload his own image or use a picture generated by other AI of the same platform.

With the launch of the V1, the company enters the generative video based on artificial intelligence, where Openai (Sora), Runway (Gen-4), Adobe (Firefly) and Google (Veo 3) are already represented. However, Midjourney traditionally relies on the creative community, and not on corporate or advertising tasks, the press release says.

According to the CEO of David Holtz, the purpose of the company goes beyond the production of video content. Midjourney, according to his assurance, seeks to create models that can simulate open worlds in real time. The next step will be 3D-rendering and real-time models.

The launch of the video model coincided with the lawsuits by Disney and Universal, who accused Midjourney of creating images that violate copyright. Despite the positioning of the company as a platform for creativity, disputes around copyright continue to increase.

Creating a video using the company’s tool costs users eight times more expensive than images. Access to V1 is open from the basic subscription of $ 10, however, unlimited generations are possible only in Pro ($ 60) and Mega ($ 120) tariffs in slow mode. The video can be renewed up to 21 seconds, and options with automatic or text animation are available in the settings, as well as the choice of the level of movement.
