The Military Police of Pernambuco seized a .9 mm caliber submachine gun in the city of Petrolina, in the backlands of the state, this Monday (2).
The seizure was made during the PM’s Integrated Impact Operation. The weapon was found with a magazine and ammunition.
The agents were patrolling the neighborhood when they approached a suspect, who was carrying a small amount of cocaine.
The police spotted a second suspect who, upon noticing the presence of the police, entered a house and fled through the back of the property.
However, he was unable to take the weapon, which was left in a bag he was carrying.
The Military Police informed the CNN in a note, that the equipment and the first man detained were presented to the Civil Police Station for clarification and adoption of appropriate legal measures.
