The Ministry of Mines and Energy will hold a meeting on Tuesday (17) with the Federal Police and the Federal Highway Police to issue new safety guidelines for operators of the electrical system. The information was obtained by anchor Daniela Lima.
to CNN , Minister Alexandre da Silveira said that the meeting will take place at 10:30 am and aims to “increase the institutional, private and technological security of the system”. He stated that the measure is necessary to preserve the National Electric System Operator (ONS).
Power transmission towers have been the target of vandalism in recent days. According to the ONS, on Monday (16) the fifth attack on an area of power transmission lines was recorded, the fourth being knocked down.
The towers that were impacted are located in the states of Rondônia, São Paulo and Paraná.
