The 13-year-old teenager apprehended after killing a 71-year-old teacher and injuring four other people with stab wounds at a state school in the west zone of São Paulo this Monday morning (27) gave testimony to the Civil Police and drew attention to his coldness.
According to delegate Marcos Vinícius Reis, holder of the 34th DP (Vila Sônia), the minor “did not show much emotion” during the statement. He spoke in the presence of parents and lawyers and admitted to committing the attacks.
The police went to the boy’s house, where they located an airsoft pistol, as well as masks and notes – the content of which was not disclosed.
The delegate informs that the motivation of the crime is not yet clear. “The investigators need to listen to more people, check the seized tickets and the material on the internet. They want to understand what happened before, what motivated it, what fights happened.”
After testifying, the minor was subjected to a criminal examination at the Instituto Médico-Legal (IML). It will still go through the Childhood and Youth Court and may be taken to Fundação Casa.
The attack
The incident took place around 7:30 am on Monday. The fatal victim was teacher Elisabeth Tenreiro, 71 years old. According to witnesses, she was making the call when she was attacked from behind, with no chance of defense. Among the four injured are three teachers and a student, who are not at risk of death.
A Physical Education teacher was responsible for immobilizing the boy and interrupting the attack. Footage from a security camera shows the moment the teacher approaches the attacker as he stabs another woman in a classroom.
