Minsk and Moscow started joint aviation military high schools

Common airlines military high schools began today, Monday (16/1) Russia and Belarus as announced by the Belarusian Ministry of Defense.

High schools are going to last until February 1st, while the Minsk emphasized earlier that are defensive in nature, explaining that they will focus on reconnaissance missions and dealing with potential attacks.

High schools are “exclusively of a defense nature”, Pavel Muraveiko, first deputy secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, pointed out yesterday, Sunday (15/1).

The Ministry of Defense of Belarus said in a Telegram post, citing Muraveiko, that although the situation on the country’s southern border with Ukraine “is not very calm”, Minsk’s forces “remain restrained and patient, we are holding our gunpowder dry”, as Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has requested.

Muraveiko also denounced that Ukraine “provokes” Belarus. “We are ready for any provocative action on the part of Ukraine,” he pointed out.

THE Russia denies, as reported by the Athens News Agency, that he is pressuring Lukashenko to take his country to a more active role in the war in Ukraine.

But the increase in military activity in the country has raised concerns in Kyiv and the West that Russia may use its ally to launch a new ground offensive in Ukraine.

Belarus has conducted several military trainings – both on its own and in cooperation with Russia – since the invasion of Ukraine.
