To celebrate the 20 years of the single “Miss” the Brazilian rapper Cabal launched, this Friday (27), the remake “Miss XX” with participation of Mc Luanna , Gaab and Edie . The viral track of the 2000s gained prominence when the musician was part of the Motirô group, along with DJ Hum and Lino Krizz .
At the time of the release, the song was awarded a platinum album by over 100,000 downloads sold to Ringtone. Today, the song accumulates over 8.5 million plays on Spotify, while the clip adds more than 2 million views on YouTube.
“When I made this song, I did not imagine that 20 years later people would still sing and dance, as if it were a release. It is a hit that went from generation to generation. For the remake, I called artists I admire and also have a love for myself. MC Luanna broke everything and stole the scene at Track, ”Cabal told a press release.
Mc Luanna, highlighting the female rap scene in the country, says the track brings an affective memory, whether from childhood or adolescence.
“Miss remind me of the school season, who introduced me to the song was my brother. It is very crazy to see that today I am participating in this classic that I loved listening. The younger audience will be able to capture the essence of original music, but now with much of my identity. I’m a fan of Cabal and it’s an honor to be collaborating with him, ”he says.
