Wanted after the attack of at least seven women in the East zone of São Paulo, suspect Solirano de Araujo, 48, remains at large. Searches continue and police map morgues and hospitals in the city .
Responsible for the investigation, delegate Ricardo Salvatori tells CNN that in addition to mapping in the capital, there were searches in the city of Santo André, close to the residence of the perpetrator of the crimes, but the man known as ‘Maniac da Mooca’ has not yet been found.
The São Paulo Civil Police also does not rule out the possibility that the suspect was murdered by the “crime court”, as published by CNN previously.
“We received information here and there, all to reconstruct the last steps, searching in hospitals and morgues, including in Santo André. The highway and federal police were called,” says Salvatori.
Another possible whereabouts is the state of Piauí, the suspect’s birthplace, but the connection that Solirano had there was his father, who has since passed away .
The request for temporary arrest requested by the police authority of the 57th Police District (Parque da Mooca) was granted by the Court last week, and since then the man has remained missing.
Authorities released two images of the man. The police asked the population for information to help locate the attacker through Hotline 181 on the website. Investigations are ongoing by the 57th DP.
