Russia’s air defenses destroyed 117 drones and four tactical missiles overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday (14).
Of these unmanned aerial vehicles – also known as drones – 37 were destroyed over the Kursk region, where Ukraine launched its surprise cross-border incursion last week. The four missiles were also destroyed in the same region.
According to local authorities, more than 35 drones launched by Ukraine were also destroyed in the southwestern Voronezh region, which borders the Kursk and Belgorod regions.
The governor of the Russian state of Voronezh said there were no casualties in the attack. He added that “numerous residential and non-residential properties, municipal infrastructure and vehicles were damaged as a result of falling debris.”
The risk of further drone attacks in the region “is still present,” he added.
