Mother and children are arrested with drugs valued at R$7.5 million in Amazonas

Marinalda de Souza Ferreira, 50 years old, and her sons Jardel de Souza Izidoro, 32 years old, and Manoel de Souza Izidoro, 30 years old, were arrested by the Civil Police of Amazonas (PC-AM) with half a ton of skunk and oxy marijuana valued at R$7.5 million.

Vacuum packaging machines, digital scales and ammunition for a 9mm pistol were also seized, according to police.

The family was charged with drug trafficking, association for drug trafficking and possession of restricted ammunition. They went through a custody hearing.

The operation was declared this Saturday (18). In a press conference, this Monday (20), deputy general delegate Guilherme Torres stated that the drug was seized in the urban area of ​​Manaus and investigations showed that the amount was intended for internal trafficking.

The trio had been investigated by the police for months and the court was asked to issue a search and seizure warrant for the residence, which resulted in the arrests.

The drug would have left the municipality of Japurá and was destined for the capital of Amazonas, around 744 km away. In Manaus, the drug was also distributed to other parts of Amazonas. This year alone, the Civil Police have already seized approximately 7 tons of drugs.
