Mother and daughter found after three days missing

After three days missing, mother and daughter were located alive in the rural area of Morada Novas de Minas, almost 300 kilometers from Belo Horizonte, this Monday (12).

Identified by a group of civilians engaged in the search, the 23-year-old woman was passed out and the three-year-old child was very weak.

Both were rescued by a Military Police Pegasus helicopter and later taken to a hospital in the region, but they were released this morning (13).

They were traveling from Ribeirão das Neves to their grandmother’s house in Morada Nova de Minas together with the woman’s partner when the vehicle broke down.

In an attempt to find a phone signal, the two got out of the car and ended up getting lost. The man managed to talk to a military officer who works in the rural patrol through a WhatsApp group, who then called the Military Police (PM). Firefighters were called on the 10th and began searching in forested areas.

The Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG) informs that a team composed of a delegate and investigators attended the health unit where they were hospitalized to collect information.

The woman, still depressed, denied the chances of escape or aggression and confirmed that she had really gotten lost. She was also formally heard at the Civil Police station in Morada Nova de Minas after being discharged and released.

After three days of searches with teams on the ground, sniffer dogs, drones and the help of volunteers, the two were identified by an unmanned aircraft belonging to a civilian, under the coordination of a Military Police officer from the Rural Patrol of Minas Gerais.

With the location determined, they were rescued by the people and attended by firefighters.
