In 2030 in Riyadh will work Mukaab, one skyscraper which will be the tallest building in the Saudi capital. The government of Saudi Arabia announced its plans for the building which will be 440 meters high. Mukaab will be built as part of the planned wider Murabba district, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, chairman of the newly formed New Murabba Development Company, announced.
The facade of the cube-shaped skyscraper will be characterized by overlapping triangular shapes that are a reference to the contemporary Najdi architectural style. The building will include two million square kilometers of shops, cultural and tourist destinations and a nearly full-height atrium with a spiral tower inside.
The wider Murabba development – 19 square kilometers in total, northwest of the city center – it will include more than 100,000 residences and 9,000 hotel rooms, as well as over 980,000 square meters of retail and 1.4 million square meters of office space. Also, 80 places of entertainment and cultural events, a university of technology and design, a multipurpose theater and an “iconic” museum.
