Multiplan registered higher sales in its malls in October compared to the same month in 2019 and is working with the prospect of strong consumer movement to its projects this year, while preparing to carry out expansion works in part of them in 2022.
“From what we’ve seen in October, it will be a promising end of the year,” stated the company’s financial vice president, Armando d’Almeida Neto.
According to him, sales at Multiplan malls in October rose about 10% compared to the same period in 2019, “setting a new record level” for the month.
“I see the malls very busy and I’m very optimistic about the end of the year. We are well located and with a higher income public”, said the executive in response to questions about the risks that the economic crisis can bring to the company’s business.
Neto also assesses the year 2022 with optimism, despite the uncertainties generated by the election period, and stated that Multiplan will promote expansion works in some of its projects in cities such as Curitiba and Belo Horizonte, despite the online retail boom that took place in the country. during the pandemic.
The group’s idea is to use in 2022 up to 13%, or 20 thousand square meters, of the total available area of its assets to expand the size of existing spaces in its malls.
“We see opportunity and growth in retail next year,” said the executive.
