Municipalities begin registration for taxi driver assistance; deadline is the 15th

Starting this Friday (5th) and until the next 15th, the new deadline begins for municipalities to register taxi drivers who will be able to receive the emergency benefit granted to taxi drivers, the Bem-Taxista.

It will be paid until next December as an aid to offset the rise in the price of fuels and derivatives.

The emergency aid will begin to be paid on August 16 in six installments of BRL 1,000, “observing the number of eligible taxi drivers and the global limit available for the payment of the aid”, informed the Ministry of Labor in Brasília.

Taxi drivers registered with city halls, holders of concessions or permits issued by May 31, are entitled to the benefit.

According to the ministry, the provision of information will be entirely up to the city halls (or the Federal District government, in the case of the federal capital), with no action on the part of taxi drivers being necessary. In case of doubt, the driver should contact the city hall to verify the municipal register.

Payment

“It is important to clarify that the mere registration of taxi drivers does not guarantee payment of the Taxi Driver Benefit. The data sent by municipal and district entities will be analyzed by Dataprev (Social Security Technology and Information Company) to identify eligible professionals,” the ministry announced.

The first two installments – referring to July and August – will be paid on August 16th.

On the 30th, they will receive assistance for taxi drivers from cities whose city halls miss the first deadline to send workers’ data to the government.

The driver whose CPF (Individual Taxpayer Registration) is pending regularization with the Federal Revenue will not be able to receive the amount. In addition, the benefit cannot be paid cumulatively with the truck driver allowance. More information can be obtained through the Caixa Tem app.
