The new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, published on his profile on the social network this Friday (18) a poll about the possibility of restoring the profile of Donald Trump. The former president of the United States was suspended from the platform in January 2021, following the invasion of protesters to the Capitol. At the time, Twitter attributed the need for the measure to “the risk of further incitement to violence”.
“Voice of the people, voice of God”, wrote the billionaire, in a comment on the poll.
Earlier, Musk had said the decision had not yet been made. This Friday, the accounts of Kathie Griffin, Jorden Peterson and Babylon Bee were reinstated.
“Twitter’s new policy is freedom of expression but not freedom of reach,” Musk wrote.
The announcement comes as the platform undergoes a stampede of employees. Hundreds of Twitter workers walked out after Musk issued an ultimatum to increase work hours and shift intensity.
