N. Androulakis: ‘This is not a personal effort, but a national one’

The candidate for the presidency of the faction, Nikos Androulakis, addressed a call for participation in the internal party elections of the Movement for Change, from Heraklion, who delivered a speech tonight, in the presence of many members of the Movement for Change.

In view of the elections, Mr. Androulakis said that “on December 5 and 12 we are changing the page for a bright future. The future that the Greek people deserve. For something different, we do not deserve today’s discord, misery or disrepute. We do not deserve to be a country of missed opportunities of a sterile bipartisanship born of memoranda and the economic crisis “while he stated that what is required is not a personal goal but a collective effort. “The effort is not personal but national. To have the party of the democratic faction with the modern ideas of national reconciliation of realism and progress as a refuge as long-term security for the interests of the Greek people,” said Mr. Androulakis.

The candidate for president of the Movement for Change during his speech said he was proud of the history of PASOK and the offer of the party “despite the mistakes made” as he stressed, while he also referred to Fofi Gennimata for whom he said that in difficult times he kept united the faction.

Regarding the scenarios for collaborations and co-governments, Mr. Androulakis said in his speech: “With the bridge that Mr. Mitsotakis has made with LAOS, he is ready to co-govern with Velopoulos, we do not need to play such games again. we will become a button in this policy which does not help the many but the few “said Nikos Androulakis, responding to scenarios of cooperation with SYRIZA. “Is it a progressive alliance with those who were with Kammenos for five years? With those who talked about the joints of institutions and democracy? With those who tried to set up a referendum that completely divided the Greek people, for the first time in decades and created new financial problems in the country? ” Mr. Androulakis added during his speech.

The candidate for the presidency of the Movement for Change also criticized the management of the pandemic in Greece. “It is not possible for a country, our country, to experience today with the vaccine, that Western Europe experienced without the vaccine. That those first months of the pandemic were spent with hospitals being demolished, hundreds dead, canceling surgeries, not to have the services that they should for cancer patients and others with serious diseases, for the Greek people to live because of the ignorance of Mr. Mitsotakis and the inadequacy of Mr. Tsipras “added Mr. Androulakis, who closing his speech in the middle applause, he said that Crete and Heraklion are the “source of power” in view of the effort made to regenerate the party.

“We have a vision for our homeland that is a vision that enables all Greeks to express themselves dynamically. To be able to create and build families, to produce wealth and to raise their children with dignity. This is what we want to realize on the 5th and on December 12 “concluded Mr. Androulakis.
