The National Consumer Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Wadih damous determined that the production company Tickets For Fun, responsible for Taylor Swift’s shows in Brazil, ensures access to water at all of the singer’s shows in the country.
A fan died and another 1,000 people fainted during the show held on Friday night (17) at the Nilton Santos Stadium, Engenhão, in Rio de Janeiro.
“We are immediately determining that the production company T4F ensures access to water at all of singer Taylor Swift’s shows in Brazil. It is insanity to deny water to thousands of people in heat where the temperature reaches 60 degrees!”, she wrote.
Earlier, the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, had advised damous to adopt appropriate measures regarding reports of sealing or lack of water availability for consumers who went or will go to shows during the heat wave in the country.
“The Consumer Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice will adopt immediate measures, with the publication of emergency rules and notifications, today, about ACCESS TO WATER at shows and other public events”, he said.
“It will also adopt measures relating to responsibilities for damages already caused, in dialogue with other bodies of the National Consumer System”, he added.
Dino also highlighted that the Consumer Protection Code requires that services be safe and suitable for health.
“It is unacceptable that people suffer, faint and even die due to lack of access to water,” he said.
A CNN contacted Time For Fun (T4F), the company responsible for producing and organizing the show, and is awaiting feedback.
