National in-flight service returns to operation from this Sunday on 3 companies

Domestic flights in the country operated by Azul, Gol and Latam resumed offering on-board service to passengers as of this Sunday (22), with unlimited snacks and drinks, at no additional cost, after two years of suspension of service by determination of the Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) because of the Covid-19.

The decision to return to service on board domestic flights took place on the 12th, at an ordinary public meeting of the Collegiate Board, due to the modification of the rule that deals with the measures to be adopted in airports and on aircraft due to Covid-19.

THE use of face protection masks remains mandatory on flights but with the permission of withdrawn for food.

Among the rules is also the return to the use of maximum capacity for passenger transport in the internal spaces of airports.

The changes change resolution 456 of December 2020, according to the current epidemiological scenario of the disease in Brazil and in the world.

The resolution also deals with the disembarkation of passengers by rows and establishes policies for cleaning and disinfecting aircraft and internal buses.

recommendations

Anvisa recommends that on-board services be as brief as possible, so as not to significantly impair the use of masks by travelers.

In addition, all solid waste generated must be collected as soon as possible, with special attention to objects that may come into direct or indirect contact with the mouth, such as glasses, plates, forks and others.

The deliberate proposal allows the resumption of the usual activity of buses commonly used to transport passengers for boarding and disembarking aircraft located in the remote area.

The changes also remove the rule that allowed cleaning and disinfection procedures only with aircraft completely empty. The procedures may take place even before the completion of the disembarkation of passengers. In addition, physical distancing between passengers should be maintained whenever possible.

Anvisa also maintained the disembarkation carried out by rows in order to reduce agglomerations in the aircraft corridor and the risks of contagion. Sound warnings about Covid-19 will also be maintained, with adjustments to the current pandemic scenario.

Covid-19 numbers

Brazil recorded 35 deaths from Covid-19 and 16,194 cases of the disease between Friday (20) and Saturday (21). The data were released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass), this Saturday (21).

Nine states and the Federal District did not notify new numbers regarding the coronavirus due to technical problems in accessing the information systems database, and therefore the updates from the previous day were kept. They are: Acre, Amapá, Ceará, Mato Grosso, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Roraima, São Paulo and Tocantins, in addition to the DF.

As a result, the moving average of cases was 13,788 and the moving average of deaths was 94. The indices consider the average of infections and deaths recorded in the last seven days.
