Neighbors of Barcelona prepare a collective complaint against Endesa after power cuts in the middle of the cold wave
Inhabitants of the Barceloneta neighborhood criticize the "continuous" blackouts suffered in recent months, a situation that is repeated in vulnerable areas of the city and other Catalan towns
The Barceloneta Neighbors Association has announced that, next Monday, it will file a collective complaint “against Endesa and the competent Administrations “for” the large number “of people affected by various power outages in the popular Barcelona fishing district.
The citizen group has explained that, from today until Friday, it will collect complaints from those injured with the aim of “requesting a definitive solution and compensation in case of losses.”
The entity has regretted, through Twitter, that it has been asking for support for the town hall, since the first cuts were in the public lighting, without having obtained any response. In recent days, in the midst of the cold spell, many residents of the old fishermen and stevedores neighborhood have once again been left in the dark and without heating, for several hours, due to two incidents in the infrastructures.
The mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, yesterday claimed Endesa, at government Yet the Generalitat a solution to the repeated electricity supply cuts in the city and other towns in the metropolitan area. The councilor wrote to the president of the company, Juan Sanchez Calero-Guilarte, to the fourth vice president and minister for the Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera, and to the Catalan Minister of Enterprise, Ramon Tremosa.
In other neighborhoods of Barcelona, such as Raval O Baró Tower, energy interruptions have also been detected in recent weeks, a problem that has affected, in a similar way, vulnerable areas of Girona, Badalona O Sabadell, where the City Council does not share Endesa’s justifications and has taken the issue to the FiscalÃa.
