Netanyahu and Biden speak on the phone after Iran's attack on Israel

US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are speaking by phone this Saturday (13), following Iran's attack on Israel, according to sources.

After being briefed on Iran's drone attack on Israel, Biden met with National Security Council officials at the White House.

“I just met with my national security team for an update on Iran's attacks on Israel. Our commitment to Israel’s security against threats from Iran and its proxies is unyielding,” said Biden.

Systems from the United States and Israel intercepted some of the more than 200 drones that were fired at the territory of the Middle Eastern country.

Iran's retaliation was already predicted by Israeli authorities, after the Islamic Republic accused Israel of carrying out an attack on the country's diplomatic representation in Syria last week, amid the intensification of tensions between the two countries in recent months.

“The malicious Zionist regime will be punished,” said Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a social media post this Saturday.
