Netherlands: New case record in the last 24 hours – Proposal for partial lockdown

More than 16,000 cases coronavirus confirmed within one day at Netherlands, with this number being the highest since the beginning of the pandemic.

In particular, RIVM, the body responsible for Public Health, made it known that 16.364 new incidents were recorded in the last 24 hours.

To announce new measures on Friday

The growing number of cases causes once again pressure on hospitals and health experts today called on the government to impose partial lockdown, lasting two weeks, to treat the spread of infections.

Among other things, they suggest theater closure and of cinemas, the cancellation of major events and closure of coffee and of restaurants earlier, broadcast the NOS television network.

The cabinet under the caretaker prime minister Mark Rutte will discuss the above recommendations, during an extraordinary meeting tonight and tomorrow, at 20.00 (Greek time), any decisions will be announced in a press conference that will be broadcast on television.

It is pointed out that the 85%, approximately, the adult population in the Netherlands has been vaccinated fully against Covid-19.
