New AMD processors will look more like Intel CPUs. Socket AM5 implies LGA execution

The current generation of Ryzen 5000 processors will be the last in the AM4 performance, apart from the possible release of updated models based on the Zen3 + architecture. Next year AMD should present the Raphael generation CPUs, which will switch to a new process technology and a new socket.

If you believe the latest data, socket AM5 will imply the execution of LGA1718, that is, AMD will switch from PGA to LGA. Recall that in the first case, the contacts are located on the processor, and in the second, on the motherboard.

The number of contacts themselves will become noticeably more, since AM4 has 1331 contacts. The source also talks about a dual-channel DDR5 controller, 600-series chipsets and PCIe 4.0. That is, PCIe 5.0 will not appear in the new generation of CPUs.
