A village mayor in the state of Oaxaca, southern Mexico, fell dead from a fire storm yesterday Sunday when four gunmen invaded his office Sunday at the Town Hall, where they also killed a city councilor, the state police said. Mayor Lilia Garcia was assassinated yesterday morning in the community San Mateo Pinia. Four perpetrators, moving with scooters, entered the town hall and killed her by invading her office, where the second victim, Municipal Councilor Eli Garcia, was also located. Two more councilors were injured, according to police. Attacks on public officials, elected and politicians are terribly common in Mexico.
