The National Football League (NFL) and Dapper Labs are planning to launch a new NFT trading and exchange platform aimed at American football fans.
Dapper Labs has developed the popular NBA Top Shot platform to exchange NFT basketball collectible cards on the Flow blockchain. Apparently, the NFL is attracted by the opportunities provided by the platform.
According to the Sports Business Journal, the new platform is slated to launch by the end of this year to attract users ahead of next season, which kicks off in January 2022. So far, the volume of investments in the platform is unknown, as well as the participation of American clubs.
Earlier it was reported that Dapper Labs has completed another round of funding, during which it raised $ 250 million. The management of the firm emphasized that the funds will help expand the NBA Top Shot and support new sports. It looks like the partnership with the NFL was a systematic step in this direction.
