THE Academy revealed the nominees for the 97th ceremony of Oscar this Thursday (23). Despite the highlights, such as the appointment of Fernanda Torres In the Best Actress category, some big Hollywood names were snubbed, such as Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman .
While Jolie was up for “Maria”, which was only nominated for Best Cinematography, Kidman recently starred in “Babygirl”, which was snubbed after not receiving any nominations.
Despite the film “Emilia Pérez” achieve the highest number of nominations, with 13 in total, the actress Selena Gomez was not nominated, despite her recent Golden Globe nomination.
Other actors like Denzel Washington, Pamela Anderson and Daniel Craig and the directors, Jon M. Chu (“Wicked”) and Edward Berger (“Conclave”) were also left off the list.
