“THE Northern Macedonia, as the newest member of NATO, supports the Alliance’s open door policy. Finland and Sweden’s ambitions to join NATO are an important step in maintaining transatlantic stability. The current geopolitical environment puts the Western Balkans also high on the agenda. The area is inevitably part of the future European security architecture. “In this context, I would like to reiterate that the EU perspective in the Western Balkans should be seen as a strategic security policy,” said Bouyar Osmani, speaking at the meeting, according to a statement from the country’s Foreign Ministry.
