Northern Macedonia: Parliament session adjourned over motion of censure against Zaef government

New break of one hour of the sitting of its Parliament Northern Macedonia, on the agenda of which is a motion of censure against the government of Zoran Zaef filed by the opposition, gave the vice-president of the House, at the request of the small opposition party “Levica” (Left).

This session of the Parliament started at noon and stopped almost immediately, after the opposition party VMRO-DPMNE requested a break of one hour, broadcasts APE BPE.

In order for the motion of censure to be approved, it must be voted on by the majority, that is, by at least 61 out of the 120 members of the country’s Parliament, however, the opposition, according to all indications, can not secure such a majority.

MPs from the ruling coalition parties are abstaining from today’s meeting. They are just present in the Parliament hall 60 deputies (all of the opposition, who support the motion of censure), but with this number there can be no quorum for the meeting of the House.

The MP is absent from the opposition ranks Castriot Rexhepi, of the small Albanian party “BESA”, which earlier today, in a post on social media, announced that it will not participate in today’s meeting.

The Speaker of Parliament, Talat Xhaferi, who comes from the ranks of the ruling Albanian party DUI, at the beginning of today’s meeting stated that does not support the initiative of the opposition to overthrow the government and added that he would abstain from the meeting.

He then called him to the bench vice president of Parliament, who comes from the ranks of the opposition, to chair the sitting.
