Northern Macedonia provides ‘full support’ for Finland-Sweden accession to NATO

The full support of Northern Macedonia for the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, Bujar Osmani, who participated in the informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the NATO member states, which took place in Berlin.

“Northern Macedonia, as the newest member of NATO, supports the Alliance ‘s open door policy. Finland and Sweden’ s ambitions to join NATO are an important step in maintaining transatlantic stability. Today ‘s geopolitical environment intensifies in the Western Baltic also high on the agenda.

“The region is inevitably part of the future European security architecture. In this context, I would like to reiterate that the EU perspective in the Western Balkans should be seen as a strategic security policy,” said Bujar Osmani, addressing the meeting. , according to an announcement by the country’s Foreign Ministry.
