Introducing the updated video cards of the Ampere line with hardware protection against mining (LHR), Nvidia spoke only about the limitation on Ethereum mining – the hash rate was reduced by a little more than half. But, as it turned out, the matter was not limited to Ethereum alone.

One user tested the latest GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and found out that Ether Classic and Ergo mining also suffered: in both cases, mining performance was more than halved. Rumors of the cryptocurrency mining community that “Ethereum is just the beginning” (allegedly Nvidia may limit the performance of the updated Ampere when mining other cryptocurrencies) are confirmed.

However, there is good news: Conflux Network (CFX) and Ravencoin are not affected, they are mined by GeForce RTX 3080 Ti (and, therefore, by other Ampere video cards) with maximum performance. But this does not mean at all that this situation will continue in the future.
