The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) formally adopted the document that outlines the procedures for Brazil’s entry into the group.
The endorsement was confirmed during a ministerial meeting, according to a statement released this Friday (10) after the meeting.
In addition to the country, Bulgaria, Croatia, Peru and Romania also advanced in their bid to join the entity.
One of the notable absences from the list is Argentina, although official discussions for the accession of Buenos Aires began at the same time as those of Brasilia, in January.
Approval of the so-called “Accession Roadmap” is one of the mandatory steps for a new member to join the OECD.
The report presents a series of terms, conditions and processes for the admission to be effective.
Based on it, the organization establishes committees that will carry out a technical evaluation of the countries, to deliver them to the Council.
