In this new installment we will meet Arne Johnson, who in 1981 stars in a national media trial for the murder of a man. To free him from prison, his defense will appeal for a demonic possession, so Ed and Lorraine Warren make their appearance, trying to solve the crime and everything behind it.

We will also witness Arne’s past, the curse that haunts his family, a series of demonic possessions and an enigma from beyond that will keep us on the edge of the couch.

It’s based on real events

Incredible as it may sound, the film is based on a real case that shocked the entire world in the 1980s. In 1981, Arne Cheyenne Johnson took a knife and thrust it into Alan Bono’s chest, who died for an hour. after the attack. Arne tried to flee, but was captured a few miles from the scene of the crime. During his trial, he pleaded not guilty and mentioned the words that give this tape its title: “The devil made me do it”, appealing to demonic possession as a motive for the crime. This was the first time in American history that someone defended themselves with a paranormal phenomenon.

Now you have one more reason not to miss this new installment on June 4. Remember that it will be available in theaters and through the HBO Max platform.
