Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase’s own blockchain, Base, experienced block production difficulties on the night of September 6th. The developers have already found the cause and restored the network.

On the evening of September 5, the production of blocks in the Base blockchain stopped. Representatives of the exchange said that they are “investigating the stop”, and users may encounter problems when conducting transactions.

A little later, the developers discovered the problem and updated the network clients. Block production resumed at 4:06 a.m. ET on September 6th. Thus, the blockchain stopped for 3.5 hours.

After launching in early August, the Base network has become one of the fastest growing and most popular networks. And in terms of the number of new unique addresses for Optimistic Rollups per day, Base quickly took first place, and by a wide margin.

It was previously reported that just two weeks after the launch of Base, more than 500 fraudulent meme tokens appeared on this network.
