Online store Newegg started accepting payments in SHIB

US online electronics retailer Newegg has launched a massive payment ad campaign at Shiba Inu and announced its support for the “dog coin”.

According to a statement company, SHIB will be accepted “as a form of payment for the holidays.” Newegg ran a SHIB payment ad on The Reef, North America’s largest billboard located at a busy freeway junction in downtown Los Angeles. It became the centerpiece of Newegg’s pre-holiday advertising campaign.

“We’re always looking for innovative ways to shop at Newegg.com. Our clients want more flexibility and options, including the ability to pay with a wide range of cryptocurrencies. Through our partnership with BitPay, we are able to lead the market. To that end, we are pleased to offer SHIB as a payment option on Newegg.com, ”said Andrew Choi, Chief Marketing Officer for Newegg.

The company maintains a reputation as a pioneer in accepting cryptocurrency payments. In 2014, through a partnership with BitPay, Newegg became the first major e-commerce company to accept Bitcoin as a payment method. In early 2021, Newegg was among the first companies to accept Dogecoin, followed by Litecoin in July.
