THE inaugural list will be revealed in September and promises to highlight exceptional hotel experiences around the world based on the experiences of 580 anonymous experts – ranging from hoteliers, journalists and seasoned travelers.
With the new ranking, the organization’s plan is to bring together under its platform the three “vital and complementary aspects of hospitality”, where users can discover the best restaurants , bars and now, hotels in the world .
This is the brand’s first global launch since 2009, the year the first World’s 50 Bars list was unveiled.
“We believe there is a huge gap in the market for truly equal classification of hotels. Unlike other awards, there is no cost for entry, shortlisting or participation,” explains Mark Sansomchief content officer for The World’s 50 Best Hotels, in a statement.
Voting and listing
The list of the 50 best hotels in the world will be based on the experiences of 580 anonymous voters, who will be selected by a group of industry leaders in nine regions of the world.
Such anonymous voters must list their seven best hotel experiences during a two-year period, in which any hotel in the world is eligible for votes.
According to The World’s 50 Best Hotels, all elements of the hotel’s operation must be taken into account, such as the first contact with the reception, the quality of the food and beverage offer, the comfort of the room and the time of check-in. out.
The first list of The World’s 50 Best Hotels will be revealed at a live event in September this year and each entry will come with useful information such as the best time to get the best value, clear pricing, restaurant and bar details and a review written by 50 Best’s team of international travel journalists.
