Paderno Dugnano Massacre, Riccardo to the investigating judge: “I didn’t have it in for my family, I wanted to be free”

“The boy spoke of a malaise that had exploded in the last few days and that what he did could be the solution.” These are words, reported by Evening Courierof the lawyer of Riccardo, the 17 year old who confessed to the Paderno Dugnano massacre where his father, mother and 12-year-old brother were killed. Amedeo Rizza spoke at the end of the hearing to validate his arrest in the Cesare Beccaria juvenile prison in Milan.

“He cried, reliving those moments is not easy. He is tired, but he was surprised and happy with his grandparents’ words, that’s why he asked to meet them.” The boy’s grandparents and uncles, despite their pain, said they will never abandon him. and they brought him some personal items to prison.

“The boy spoke of a malaise that had exploded in the last few days and that what he had done could be the solution. The sorrow he feels now, he repeated, is not for himself but for the family members who are no longer with us. It was his problem that manifested itself in all environments, from home to school. But he was not angry with his family members, he had no problems with them. The day before he had not thought of committing the murder but was trying to understand what a solution could be. For example, running away from home, going to Ukraine. But the idea that this could be what he actually did matured during the night.”

The key point remains that of premeditation contested by the Prosecutor’s Office. An attempt is being made to clarify the motive. During the two hours of questioning in front of the investigating judge Laura Margherita Pietrasanta, Riccardo has retraced what happened the night of the streets. The 17-year-old’s lawyer will request a psychiatric evaluation and has asked for his transfer to a community. After the judge’s decision, which should validate the arrest given the confession, he will present a request for a meeting with his grandparents.
