“Painful, but it was worth it”, says actor about characterization for “Dune: Part 2”

The Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård revealed, in an interview with Business Insiderwho spent eight hours with makeup professionals every day to transform into the plane, Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, to “Dune: Part 2” .

It was painful, but it was worth it. We wanted him to be such a clear-cut image that he would leave a mark on people just by appearing on screen. And this brand should last the entire film, without it appearing all the time,” he said.

The actor already went through a similar experience in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest “, when he played Bootstrap Bill, and stated that he would rather spend hours on makeup than use CGI.

“I was the only one on set with real prosthetics. Everyone else on that ship showed up five minutes before we started filming and put stitches in their faces, and they left. I was there six hours”, he recalled.

“But the thing is, I like it. I like watching artists paint, if that makes sense,” she added.

“Dune: Part 2” arrived in Brazilian cinemas on Thursday (29). The film is the continuation of the film released in 2021.

Under the direction of Dennis Villeneuve the plot is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Frank Herbert and stars Timothée Chalamet .
