The issuer of the USDT stablecoin, the American company Tether, has added support for The Open Network. Liquidity of $10 million has been added to the TON network; on-chain commissions can be paid in USDT.

Speaking at the Token 2049 conference in Dubai, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said that Telegram seems to be a good platform for introducing cryptocurrencies and launching various applications:

“The launch of USDT on the TON blockchain will ensure low cost of transfers.”

In his opinion, the messenger ecosystem has a large number of users, and partnership with Telegram will be an important event for Tether.

TON CEO Andrey Rogozov said that the Wallet wallet integrated into the Telegram messenger has already launched transactions with USDT based on The Open Network (TON).

Earlier, Paolo Ardoino, in an interview with DL News, said that auditing companies included in the “Big Four” (Deloitte, PwC, EY and KPMG) are afraid to work with Tether because they are afraid of damaging their reputation.
