Paranoid Sapphire brings Android to 12 old OnePlus and POCO smartphones

Back in March of this year, Paranoid Android custom firmware developers released an alpha version of their Android 12-based software called Sapphire, but then the release was limited exclusively to OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro smartphones. Within two months since the conditional release of their firmware, the developers have been actively adding new features and expanding the list of supported devices. And today, May 9, the authors of Paranoid Android made it possible for five more smartphones to receive the Android 12 operating system before the manufacturers themselves officially launch it.

According to a social media post from Paranoid Android developers, Sapphire Beta 1 firmware is now available on five more devices.

Model name Link to firmware
One Plus 7 Pro oneplus7pro
One Plus 7T oneplus7t
OnePlus 7T Pro oneplus7tpro
POCO F2 Pro/Redmi K30 Pro lmi
POCO F3/Xiaomi Mi 11X/Redmi K40 Alioth

To create an update package for each specific device, a dedicated server is now used, there is even a full-featured server component for over-the-air updates, which will make it possible to simplify the process of updating a smartphone to future firmware versions as much as possible in the future. At the same time, of course, everyone can download the firmware on the official Paranoid Android portal, which serves as a universal repository for new software versions.

It is worth noting that all current builds of Paranoid Android Sapphire include applications from Google, so the user does not need to spend time and effort accessing the Google Play Store after installing the firmware on their device. However, it must be recalled that now the software is only at the alpha testing stage. This means that many functions do not work correctly or do not function at all, so it is highly discouraged for inexperienced users to install software – this is done at their own peril and risk.
